HOW WE GOT HERE

I am a 34 yr old mother who wants to work for myself making my own money setting an example for my kids while trying to build an empire to leave for them. I'm also a Girlfriend, daughter, friend, cousin, etc. I'm just a normal person who saw an opportunity to take a chance on herself and went for it. I work part-time at a hospital doing patient registration and for the last almost 4 years I've become a Licensed Nail Technician. I left my full-time position and went part-time at the hospital in 2018 to focus more on nails. I love my job and the beautiful art I get to create for my clients and also helping those with dry cuticles, which is what first got me into creating my skincare line. Pre covid I started out making cuticle oils for a few clients who had very dry and cracked cuticles to the point of bleeding at times. I made a few in Feb 2020 and they were a hit! It helped a lot of people and after a few weeks, I added lip glosses as well. Then March came and Boom covid hit and we were in quarantine and forced to closed the nail salon. Thankfully I still had my job at the hospital but it's not what I love to do, plus I was missing that extra income from doing nails. So I knew the cuticle oils and lip gloss alone weren't going to be enough to make up for the missed income, so I thought of the body butter. In the past, I would always whip some up for my personal use because I have dry skin and my daughter has eczema, and it was the only thing that would help us both so figured hey why not give selling it a shot. I made about 10 jars to start and those sold within a couple of days and everyone told me how much they loved it. As time went on the salon was allowed to open back up but I enjoyed making the products so much I wanted to continue to do so and add more items to sell. My main goal is to leave the hospital and have My business be my main source of income. I know I have a good product and long as I continue to work hard and push myself I will achieve my goals, and leave my kids something to have in the future so they can be their own bosses as well.
